2009 Eliana Reserve

> Lookup on Cellar Tracker

We really enjoyed the 08 version of this wine and had it side by side today at 38 Central.  The 09 is even better.  This is a dark but clear garnet wine with a nose of black cherry, coffee, loam, tobacco and traces of dark chocolate.  The palate is refined and lovely the fruit is sweet and well balanced to a soft tannic finish.  The little extra merlot in this blend really paid off.

A small note on the 2008 this is actually really improving with age, this gone from 87 to 89 for us and we think it may get into the 90's soon.  There is now caramel and dried plum on the nose, the tart finish has started to be a smooth tannin.

Score: 90
Cost: $ 30
Wine Type: Right Bank Blend, Southern Oregon, Rogue Valley
