2010 LaBrassuer Merlot

> Lookup on Cellar Tracker

This is a dark red merlot from this winemaker from the Rogue Valley with a nose of black berry, vanilla, charcoal, and a kiss of mint.   The mouth feel is full with a nice fruit, tart middle and tannic finish.  The La Brassuer is a more complex Merlot than a lot out there with a good fruit and finish. Enjoy it now and over the next couple of years.

2009 Pheasant Court Syrah Rogue Valley

> Lookup on Cellar Tracker

This wine made by a Willamette Valley producer with Southern Oregon grapes from the Carpenter Hill Vineyard in the Bear Creek area of the Rogue Valley appellation .  The color is a dark red with a nose of black fruit, oak, cherry, olives and pepper spices.  The palate shows a full body that is fruit forward with different layers of flavor and acid.  The finish is long and tannic.  This offering is a very well balanced big wine that should go with rich food.  Relatively inexpensive you should give it a try through 2015.

> Lookup on Cellar Tracker

This World of Wine best of show is clear with a pear juice tint and a nose of pear, turmeric, and minerality.  The mouth feel is full bodied with fruit forward, citrus and an acidic finish.  I think everyone liked it here at the Oregon wine geekís dinner for Parks Uncorked.  I think itís well deserving of the best of show it received. We wrote this review with all of our guests help and input, thank you all and congratulations to Pat and Dick Ellis at Pebblestone for your best of show.
