Tuesday, May 07, 20132010 Foris fly-over white
This
wine blend is mostly Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris with a straw color
and a nose of melons and citrus. We served it quite chilled which produced a
light refreshing wine with melons, acids, and minerality on the palate. A nice summer sip you should try.

Wednesday, April 17, 20132009 Folin Cellars Tempranillo
This
Tempranillo from the Rogue Valley is a deep and dark red. The nose shows a big dark fruit, plums,
olives and smoke with a touch of vanilla for the oak. The fruit is delicious sweet and full bodied when
held on the palate. The wine moves into
a nice middle and supple tannic finish that is lingering and enjoyable. This four year old could do well with another
year in the bottle but is very drinkable now.

Wednesday, April 10, 20132008 Pebblestone Cellars Mélange
This is one of my favorite red Bordeaux blends from the
Southern Oregon. The folks at
Pebblestone change the blend each year.
They produce a wonderfully full bodied balanced offering. The 2008 is a dark ruby red with a nose of
black fruit, floral notes, old wood and a touch of tar. The palate shows a well-defined fruit dry and
delicious with a complex middle and layered tannic finish that is lasting. This is one of the best Mélange ever. If you like French Bordeaux you’ll love this
wine.

Tuesday, April 09, 20132011 Merrill Cellars Syrah Reserve
This is a dark ruby Syrah from Merrill this year. The nose is a dark fruit, rough cut English
tea, clove, caramel, floral and tobacco.
The mouth feel is very full with a good fruit and caramel in a layered
profile. The finish is tannic and long
with white pepper and slightly bitter.
This wine has a great yum factor with complexity and legs that should
cellar well for the next 5 years. Let this wine breath for a bit to get 92 points
now what will be in 2018?
